Episode Transcript
[00:00:01] Speaker A: Hello, friends. Stan Houde, business editor with the Daily Gazette family of newspapers. Each week I travel across upstate's New York capital region and meet interesting people talking about exciting things happening in their lives.
I also have the pleasure of working with a host of talented writers who cover a variety of topics on a weekly basis.
Some of those interactions begin as assignments, some as random meetings. But through these fortunate opportunities, I like to think that in some small way, each time, they become friends.
All right, John Norris.
[00:00:36] Speaker B: Hello. The heavyweight fight, it's coming. It is coming.
[00:00:41] Speaker A: Gloves off of craft brew in the capital region, and it's been tremendous. Yes, we borrowed.
We took some talent and kind of ran with it ourselves. We localized a good idea.
[00:00:56] Speaker B: You know, we're all standing on the shoulders of giants in this business.
[00:00:59] Speaker A: That's, you know, and we're all friends absolutely, too. But did you imagine.
[00:01:03] Speaker B: And we're both like six threes. Yeah.
[00:01:05] Speaker A: Did you imagine, like, this, like, kind of took off. Yeah. Like, became its own thing.
[00:01:09] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. We've had a ton of votes put in.
As of this morning, 4043 votes have been cast.
[00:01:18] Speaker A: And that's. I mean, again, we're not.
If there's a miss.
And I will. I will share this. I will own this.
We're gonna make it a monster next year. Like, it was in our subscription. Subscription insider. We've done some stuff in promos and stuff like that. Like, we didn't go full court press like TikTok. And we're gonna. I mean, we're gonna. We're going monster numbers next round, I'm thinking.
[00:01:42] Speaker B: And comes the springtime, early spring, you.
[00:01:45] Speaker A: Want to go get basketball when line up in the final four again.
[00:01:47] Speaker B: March craziness. Ma, it's copyrighted. You can't use that.
[00:01:51] Speaker A: Yeah, but we. But we'll have new brews, though, too.
[00:01:53] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:01:54] Speaker A: And that's kind of why this worked, right?
[00:01:55] Speaker B: This has got. We've got 16. We started off with 16 in the. In this one round. One was Frog Alley against. Against the Heldenberg Meadworks and Wolf Hollow against the Great Sakandaga. Speckled Pig Brewing versus Druthers Active Ingredient against Dancing Grain Brewing.
Browns Brewing versus the Whitman Brewing. Other one, Brewing versus Old Clavarack Brewing.
Stump City Brewing versus Fiden's Brewing.
The last one was Back Barn Brewing against the Warbler Brewery. Brewery.
[00:02:29] Speaker A: So that was the. That's when we opened the case.
Or the. We kicked. We tapped the keg with the 16 and it. I mean, we agree. I mean, it's been strong.
[00:02:42] Speaker B: The Whole time, right through, all the way through. It's been fantastic.
And yeah, it's going really well.
I mean, and I'm getting emails from loyal readers and I assume beer fans.
And this is funny.
Few weeks ago, after the first round, I went into my local branch of the bank I use.
I don't want to out the poor manager there because he's a beer aficionado, obviously. He. And, and from across, he was sitting in the back of the, in the back of the lobby. From across the room, behind his desk, he looked at me, he stood up and pointed at me and said, you're John Norris, right?
And I said, oh darn, did I bounce the track? He goes, no, no, no.
And he comes over, comes over and he says, and he just sticks his hand down. He says, thanks, thank you so much. He goes, I love the fact that you guys put together something that just fits our demo.
[00:03:41] Speaker A: What do you mean?
[00:03:42] Speaker B: Just like creepy old guys.
He's thanked me for it. Yeah, he's a guy about my age.
[00:03:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:03:49] Speaker B: You know, late 50s, early 60s.
And yeah, and he just thanked me for that and he said he looks forward to reading, you know, what we do every, every week. That felt really good.
[00:04:01] Speaker A: That's, that's. I mean we say it all the time.
I don't want the money, I want the credit.
I'll still take the money. Oh yeah, but the credit, the credit gets you through the long days.
[00:04:11] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
You know, so, you know, and it just, it just felt like, like I'd done something good. I don't know, whatever, you know, and.
[00:04:20] Speaker A: For everybody who's listening, I mean this is not the full time gig, is not pint size is not the full time gig for John. No, this is, this is a value added thing that you do for the Gazette News Group.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:04:35] Speaker A: And it's paying off in spades or in hops.
[00:04:41] Speaker B: Hops, spades, pints, all good.
[00:04:43] Speaker A: Exactly. So we're, we're down, we're down to it, right? We're down to the title.
[00:04:47] Speaker B: We're down. Yeah, that's it. At the very end.
I mean, I know. Round, round three, round, round two was, you know, we, we did the, the 16 down to eight and then the final four, it was Wolf Hollow versus the Speckled Pig. Two various solid contenders. And then there was Stump City Brewing up in Gloversville against Browns Brewing. Now Stump City's been around four or five years, six years tops. And real nice folks up there, they're the hard working folks.
But Browns growing has been allowed since that's like 30, 35 years.
And great folks there, too. But, you know, they've got. They've got a history.
That was round. That was round three. Now. Now in the final. That was first for the final four, but now for the actual. For the finals, it's Wolf Hollow. They just beat out Speckled Pig and believe it or not, Stumped City.
Stump City. God bless these guys. They, you know, the hard work and I. I can't believe it. You know, they got. But they got a puncher chance.
[00:06:00] Speaker A: Yeah, the. And it went selfishly. I mean, we hope, we pray we lucked into this. That it's two in our coverage area.
[00:06:10] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:06:10] Speaker A: You know, Leader Herald, you know, is Stump City is out there in Fulton County. So that works for the Gazette folks. And then, you know, Wolf Hollow down the road, which is theoretically Glenville, but a lot of people in Montgomery county, you know, recognize it because. Because of where it is.
[00:06:26] Speaker B: But it still has a Schenectady zip code.
[00:06:28] Speaker A: Yeah, it's. Yeah, we get. That's. We get enough emails on that about I live here and not there. And it's like, where do you. What's your mail say? But that's. I mean, we get two locals. Yeah. And without giving anything away, it's neck and neck. It's very close to this recording, which we're doing Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon.
And it is very close. So again, you heard this earlier in the month. Every vote counts.
[00:06:54] Speaker B: It totally does.
I was surprised and happy for the folks over at Stump City. They beat again, a titan. It was definitely David and Goliath match up there.
[00:07:10] Speaker A: It was one of those, you know, they came out of the. If we were to bracket, we might. Which we might do. We might do a bracket show. Yeah, we might have to do a video with the bracket show and do some graphics and stuff for the. The spring scene.
[00:07:25] Speaker B: We could.
[00:07:26] Speaker A: We. We can re. We can reveal the bracket.
[00:07:29] Speaker B: We'll need to get to 64. Let's go 32.
[00:07:32] Speaker A: I think we're gonna go. We're still a small family newspaper. Exactly. So we're gonna go 32.
Because that way, I think 64. Even in the. Even in the craft beer trail.
[00:07:44] Speaker B: Right, Right. We'd have to go.
[00:07:46] Speaker A: We did look at it because we had a lot of. Because the craft beer trail. The craft trail did include a lot of distilleries and things like that. So it would be really hard. So I think a solid 32.
And then maybe do a reveal.
A reveal show of the bracket of the bracket. We maybe. Maybe in that Case we'll, and again, we can do it just like the women's bracket, where UConn's always in the west bracket.
[00:08:11] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:08:11] Speaker A: You know, we don't care about the depth. We don't care about where we are geographically.
[00:08:14] Speaker B: Right.
[00:08:15] Speaker A: This worked for us.
[00:08:15] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:08:16] Speaker A: So we may do east and west, you know, and do 32, do 16 and 16, you know, bracket, and then come down, you know, so you have 32 total.
And then we do the east versus west. We'll just somehow or another determined by coin flip which bracket you ended up in. But I think so, I think out of this, what we've got to ask our listeners. And also when you wrap this as we will follow up with the winners, get those nominees in, like, who needs to be in the bracket?
[00:08:45] Speaker B: Let me tell you, the folks, Folks, who all the people who voted are, their name is in the running for a $200 gift card from the winning brewery. So someone's gonna get $200 from Wolf Hollow or from Stump City.
That's a fantastic.
[00:09:06] Speaker A: And we're available.
[00:09:07] Speaker B: Stocking stuffer.
[00:09:08] Speaker A: We're available.
[00:09:09] Speaker B: Oh, yes, absolutely.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: We're there for the party.
[00:09:12] Speaker B: We can do a retest.
[00:09:13] Speaker A: We can present the gift card at the designated place, date and time.
[00:09:19] Speaker B: That'd be great.
[00:09:21] Speaker A: Maybe even newsy comes.
[00:09:22] Speaker B: It almost sounds like we plan these things.
[00:09:24] Speaker A: It's, it's unbelievable. Like, we, Shen and I did our Stan and Shen show podcast with mopco. It was all about improv.
And they go, so how much do you do about improv? I go, every podcast we do is improv. Shen came with notes on one podcast. I said, what are you doing?
[00:09:38] Speaker B: Ah.
[00:09:40] Speaker A: And this is exactly how we're rolling with this. But this is.
[00:09:42] Speaker B: Well, I, I brought paper because I couldn't. Facts, I couldn't remember. You got, remember all the data.
[00:09:47] Speaker A: John brought receipts, my data.
So, I mean, what do you, I mean, I, I, I, I don't think obviously people are going to be not happy that their favorite didn't win, but I think we hit the top two.
[00:09:59] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, they're very nice.
[00:10:01] Speaker A: I, I think I, I didn't see it coming.
[00:10:03] Speaker B: No.
[00:10:04] Speaker A: I thought there were some heavy hitters in there that got, I think there's an upset or two in there that I looked at and went, you serious?
[00:10:10] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:10:11] Speaker A: So that's, so now these breweries are on notice.
[00:10:15] Speaker B: Oh, these. I'm sure that folks over it.
[00:10:18] Speaker A: If you didn't make the, if you make the final four, you didn't make the top two.
You know, we're here to help.
[00:10:23] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:10:23] Speaker A: You know, we have. We have space to run vote for.
[00:10:27] Speaker B: Yes, I know. Again. And the folks over at Wolf Hollow and Stump City right now, I'm sure they're keep. They're cleaning out their tanks and making sure the lines are clean so that whoever goes in there gets a primo pint. Right.
[00:10:41] Speaker A: Primo Pinterest. What I just saw incorporated that. So did you trademarked. I grabbed this for me for bite size, but it does fall around pint size. Just because I know your schedule and things like that. I haven't committed yet, but have you seen the craft beer advent calendar?
[00:10:58] Speaker B: I saw that on t. Yeah.
[00:11:00] Speaker A: So 20 these 24 beers.
And I think the only angst I saw in a common was like, it's 150 bucks. Okay, all right.
[00:11:09] Speaker B: I'm like, yeah, but we can expense that, right, John?
[00:11:12] Speaker A: I'm like, okay, it's 150 bucks. It's 25 beers.
[00:11:18] Speaker B: It's what you're going to.
[00:11:19] Speaker A: What? What?
This is. This is not Taylor Swift tickets.
[00:11:22] Speaker B: Those are retail beers.
[00:11:24] Speaker A: It's like, we're not. You know, this isn't StubHub times six.
You know, this is like. This is fair market price.
You know, I mean, you know, Hickory Farms cheese is not inexpensive and those things that nobody eats. But I mean, this is something that everybody's going to try.
[00:11:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:11:41] Speaker A: So we may have to look to expense that. We may. I may have to fly that up the flagpole.
And then we do a.
[00:11:47] Speaker B: Sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
[00:11:50] Speaker A: Yeah. But the thing is, if Rita finds out the money. Yeah, if Rita finds it. You know, if Rita and Mary find out that we took a flyer on this one and wanted to have a good time.
Oh, yeah. Spent $150 on it. It's like, what?
We'd have to space it out too, because we have to do like four.
[00:12:05] Speaker B: Beers a week, and I don't feel like recording after five.
Or weekends.
[00:12:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:12:12] Speaker B: Or we could just get a little mini fridge in the office here. Put all 25 in there, and then you and I could have. We can do one or two beers while we're having.
[00:12:21] Speaker A: That's half a year.
[00:12:22] Speaker B: That's an idea.
[00:12:23] Speaker A: It's like hot ones, you know, John. Okay, I'm claiming this on the record right now. Daily Gazette's Gonna own this. DailyGazette.com, john D. Augustine. We're get the paperwork in this afternoon. We're gonna have cold ones.
So the hot ones where you do the hot wings and all the different sauces.
[00:12:43] Speaker B: Oh, that's an idea.
[00:12:44] Speaker A: We're gonna do cold ones and we're gonna taste beer.
[00:12:47] Speaker B: But there's. The only thing is I love the name. I like it a lot too. Suppose we did it with we sleep as pint size too orange. But suppose we did it with increasingly higher level alcohol.
[00:13:03] Speaker A: Yes, yes.
[00:13:06] Speaker B: Alcohol by volume.
So the first round, it would be just like a. An N A or not NA. Yeah. First round is an NA Beer. Yeah. Too bad. And then the next round, it'll step.
[00:13:17] Speaker A: Up a little bit. Cold ones. Yeah.
[00:13:18] Speaker B: And then by the time we're further along the rounds, maybe we're. How funny are we getting a shot and a beer?
[00:13:23] Speaker A: People think we're funny now.
[00:13:25] Speaker B: Oh, they do.
[00:13:25] Speaker A: Wait, wait until after we're doing tastings.
[00:13:28] Speaker B: Is it funny haha or fun now? It's okay.
[00:13:31] Speaker A: No, it's.
[00:13:31] Speaker B: I don't want to know.
[00:13:32] Speaker A: It's both. I don't want to know. It's funny haha. Funny same. It's. It's cold ones. Launching 2026 Daily Gazette. Cold ones. Cold ones. Standing friends. This.
Cold ones.
[00:13:45] Speaker B: That could work nicely, huh?
[00:13:48] Speaker A: Get some sponsorships.
[00:13:50] Speaker B: There we go.
[00:13:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:13:51] Speaker B: In Bev.
[00:13:53] Speaker A: I think so. I think it's great.
So we don't have favorites.
We don't have favorites. But are we wrong to think like, Stump City's the upset?
[00:14:06] Speaker B: Oh, Stump City is an upset.
[00:14:07] Speaker A: I mean, if they. I mean, if they come away the title over Wallpaw.
[00:14:10] Speaker B: Absolutely. But I mean, I've been.
[00:14:12] Speaker A: I mean I've been to both, so. I've been to both. And you know what's great? What's great about this inside baseball and stuff like that is fans of both these breweries. These. And I say guys is a generic term for all human beings are guys.
[00:14:28] Speaker B: Small G guys.
[00:14:29] Speaker A: Yeah, they're out there.
[00:14:32] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
[00:14:32] Speaker A: I go to Woofstock and I go to Save Astray and I go to SPCA events. I go to kids events. I go to things like that. They are out in the community and again, they're selling beer, we're selling newspapers. You know, the Y is selling memberships. Everybody's selling something, but they're out there and they're air. It's on the weekends, it's in the hot, it's in the cold, it's in the wind. They're taking time out of the. Out of the box. They're out of the brewery, they're not serving there, and they're out making things happen. So I mean, we couldn't have drawn this up better for either one.
Do you have a favorite from each one?
A favorite, favorite beer you've had there, favorite IPA or anything from both of them? I think you've been.
[00:15:19] Speaker B: I've been all of them. Yeah, all the ones that we did.
[00:15:22] Speaker A: So out of those two, is there anything that you remember that stood out if you think about it? I'll tell my Wolf Hollow story.
[00:15:29] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:15:30] Speaker A: Wolf Hollow did a tasting. It was an event. And it's in the. It's cold and it's a great event. And it might have been for dogs or something like that.
And outside, outside, bang.
Outside the brewery had beer. So you'd get a beer, you'd go outside.
They would take a hot poker that was in the fire.
They then insert it into the top of the beer, into the beer head and mix it around slowly.
And it would, it would, it would conform, it would conform the head of the beer into like a marshmallow type of melt malt.
And it came from Germany.
It is. And it changes the taste of the head of the beer. But you had a little bit of warm with the cold.
[00:16:22] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:16:22] Speaker A: It was. It's the greatest thing ever. I put it's up on YouTube. I did a video of it and it changes the taste. And it's all the lore of this is like the Vikings in Europe, they want their beer warm. Well, here you are in Scandinavia and it's only 5 degrees in the spring.
So literally the beer would be too cold. And that's how it came about. But they take the hot skewer in to put that in to warm up the beer to what they are more accustomed to. But that's my Stump City story. Other than being like great in the community, I love that and I tell people that all the time about that cold beer becoming warm. And just the head becomes like this marshmallow head.
And everybody who tried it loved it.
[00:16:57] Speaker B: Because my memory isn't what it used to be. Okay, I'm pulling up information about my.
[00:17:03] Speaker A: Your trip.
So we're gonna talk.
What was one of your favorites at Stump City?
[00:17:10] Speaker B: Stump City. I know it's in a little part of Gloversville called Meco, which I'd never heard of before, but it's Meco and I've lived here my whole life, Meco.
And they've got a Meco Hazy ipa or they call it the Adirondack ipa.
Great beer. You know, they use three locally, three New York state produced hops.
It's a great flavor.
It's got A nice bite up front. It mellows right out nicely. It's a solid, it's got that solid IPA flavor that he likes.
[00:17:43] Speaker A: And this, I think this makes.
We may have to start calling. We're coming up with all new things on the podcast now. We love the John Norris Power rankings in craft brewing.
The Mikohazy IPA comes in at 6.2 ABV.
[00:17:58] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:17:59] Speaker A: Alcohol by volume.
[00:18:00] Speaker B: Alcohol by volume.
[00:18:02] Speaker A: So that might be why it was like on the, on the.
[00:18:04] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:18:06] Speaker A: But it didn't hurt.
[00:18:08] Speaker B: There's a person I know locally here.
[00:18:10] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:18:11] Speaker B: Worked in this building, has a brewery.
[00:18:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:18:14] Speaker B: He's got a 13.5% which is like wine. Yeah, 13.5%.
It's, it's, it's a great, it's, it's, it's a porter, I guess.
[00:18:25] Speaker A: I mean this beer isn't like the Drunk uncle or something similar. It's got a great, great name we're going to talk about for Father's Day because it's a relationship. Yeah, we'll bring that one up.
[00:18:34] Speaker B: Yeah, I'll bring it up right now though. It's called, it's called husband daycare.
[00:18:38] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:18:39] Speaker B: 13.5.
[00:18:40] Speaker A: Husband in daycare.
[00:18:42] Speaker B: Husband Daycare.
[00:18:42] Speaker A: Husband Daycare. I'll just.
[00:18:44] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:18:44] Speaker A: Very nice. And that's our friends, the other one. The other one brewing and Half Moon who made it through the second round.
[00:18:51] Speaker B: Yeah, they beat old Clav rack.
[00:18:53] Speaker A: Yeah, they made it through the second round. So that's great, that's great for. That's great for family.
[00:18:57] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:18:58] Speaker A: All right, now let's.
[00:19:00] Speaker B: Yeah, but I mean, think definitely if you think about, I know the folks over at Wolf Hollow, they're really good. Every beer they put out is a, is a spot on version of what it's supposed to be.
I think that's probably high praise.
[00:19:17] Speaker A: I think so. And I know talking to them and I just saw the registration come up for the New York State Craft Beer event and come out. So that's coming up in March, that's in the spring. And I know Wolf Hollow heavily invest in participating.
[00:19:37] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:19:37] Speaker A: And they've come up empty. So they're working on some things, trying to find the knowledge that what are people looking for and stuff like that. So hopefully that happens. But I mean, they're trying and their stuff is. And again, it is good. It's.
[00:19:49] Speaker B: They don't really get out there. I know one of my favorites that they came up with there, it's called the Year one Black Lager.
It's a German Schwarz beer. It's Toasty, chocolatey. And it's 8.2% ABV, which sounds a little foreboding, but it's a mellow beer.
It's not thick and creamy, but it's kind of like a Guinness. That's like a lager. It's not as thick as a Guinness. It's a good beer, though.
[00:20:17] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:20:18] Speaker B: And that's, you know, it's a black lager.
[00:20:20] Speaker A: Wow. All right. Black log.
[00:20:22] Speaker B: German.
[00:20:23] Speaker A: But eight point again, the power rankings. Power rankings puts it up there. Exactly. On the cold ones. Yeah, the cold one power ranking, it comes in at an 8.2.
[00:20:33] Speaker B: That's a mid.
[00:20:34] Speaker A: That's what we're going to do. A mid scale beer. Yeah.
So then like, oh, yeah, we're. Yeah, we're launching this. We're going to. We're going to own this. We're going to own this. And we'll definitely be doing this.
[00:20:43] Speaker B: Can we expense the fridge too?
[00:20:45] Speaker A: We're working on it. We'll see what Black Friday brings at Best Buy.
[00:20:48] Speaker B: Half on your put, half on yours, half on mine. And then we'll get it passed under the radar screen.
[00:20:52] Speaker A: We'll get it past the bank tellers in the house and go from there. So I'm excited to see how this shakes out. So voting is available through Saturday at.
[00:21:03] Speaker B: Midnight or Sunday 12:01pm or 12:01pm so.
[00:21:08] Speaker A: Literally during the parade, as Shannon and I are on stage, one people should be. We will sing. Get on your phones right now.
[00:21:16] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:21:17] Speaker A: And vote.
Yeah, we'll do.
[00:21:19] Speaker B: That'd be nice.
[00:21:19] Speaker A: We'll tell them. We'll tell them about it.
[00:21:21] Speaker B: Maybe you have a huge QR code printed.
[00:21:24] Speaker A: We could hold it. I may hold it up for the pod because we're live streaming. Yes, yes. So we may direct them to the site.
[00:21:30] Speaker B: And I'm just printing a big QR code.
[00:21:32] Speaker A: We'll get a QR code on there. We'll say the QR code right down beneath us, like when somebody's missing. Unfortunately, we'll good news on that live stream because it is the parade.
[00:21:41] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:21:41] Speaker A: But hey, you know what? Maybe we'll put the QR code out in front. We'll put it on the side of the truck carrying Santa.
[00:21:48] Speaker B: It's an idea.
[00:21:50] Speaker A: We'll just say vote and put the QR code there.
[00:21:52] Speaker B: QR coding for Santa.
[00:21:53] Speaker A: And then just see what you know. We're just gonna drive traffic.
[00:21:56] Speaker B: That's great.
[00:21:56] Speaker A: That's. We're gonna. We've got bonuses now.
Michelle and John's gonna say pay the boys all this.
[00:22:03] Speaker B: All this. Yeah. Or buy them the. Buy them the fridge, get the beer.
[00:22:06] Speaker A: Get the fridge, get the beer, get.
Expense the suitcase. We may have to do the Advent calendar as the power rankings, because don't we want, like, the highest ABV to be like Christmas?
[00:22:17] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
[00:22:18] Speaker A: The 24th.
[00:22:19] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:22:20] Speaker A: Reed. I got expense 120.
All right, John, thank you so much as always. Thank you for putting this together. This was your idea.
[00:22:29] Speaker B: Yep, pretty much.
[00:22:30] Speaker A: I was all in and I did nothing, but I was there in spirit the whole time. And I would have done anything you needed, but you did just such a great job working with the software that we have on hand and our systems and stuff. But, I mean, again, 4,000 votes, I mean, for this type of thing, I think, is absolutely fantastic. And it's a credit to our readers and our listeners. Our readers of pint size and our listeners of this podcast and things like that. So kudos to you, and we'll raise a pint.
[00:23:01] Speaker B: Yes. After the parade and then. And possibly. No, we can. After. You and I will do that. Not related to this, but just in general.
[00:23:10] Speaker A: Absolutely.
[00:23:10] Speaker B: And then.
And then the next day, we'll be able to celebrate someone getting a 200 gift card.
[00:23:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I can't.
[00:23:18] Speaker B: Wolf Hollow or Stump City.
[00:23:19] Speaker A: I can't. I. We may have to videotape that call. We have to put that. We may have to do it on the podcast. We might do it live.
[00:23:24] Speaker B: Yeah, Or I got beeps.
[00:23:27] Speaker A: Because they got to be excited.
[00:23:28] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:23:29] Speaker A: All right, cool. So tune in next week, Stan and friends. We're going to have some winners announced.
We're going to have some brewery winners, hopefully some names available for broadcast, and then we will know. You and I will know the proverbial launch party for the award winner.
[00:23:49] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:23:50] Speaker A: In an undisclosed location. Well, we'll know the location, but you and I will know the date and time. Same. And we'll plan it out next year. So it'll be same pint size, time, same pint size, date, same pint size time. Like Batman.
[00:24:02] Speaker B: Exactly. Bat Channel. It's in that time. Say Bat Channel.
[00:24:05] Speaker A: All right, I'll see you next week.
[00:24:06] Speaker B: Very good. Thanks, Dan.
[00:24:08] Speaker A: Thank you for listening. And thanks to all of my friends, old and new, who have made this possible.
[00:24:13] Speaker B: Thomas Demopoulos, journalist Ken Shots, and host of the Parting Shots podcast.
John Norris, advertising guru at the Daily Gazette.
